World Trends of Intellectual Property Rights Protection on the Example of the Pharmaceutical Market

In recent years, the issues on intellectual property in pharma has gained particular importance. On the one hand, large pharmaceutical companies, which contribute considerable and intellectual  resources to R&D on new breakthrough decisions, require an  overall insurance of  legal protection got from new product efforts. On the other hand, the population’s needs on available, highly demanded and socially valuable medicines are obvious, and this could diminish the role of intellectual property as a monopoly. For this reason, there comes a question of how to find the balance of interests in the providing patent protection in pharma? This will be discussed during the following session.
